The AEsthetics League and Zack Shore Properties are pleased to announce their initial collaborative art show, simply entitled, “The New Show”. Newly formed By Ms. Patricia Arroyo, The AEsthetics League is a seasoned group of artists committed to exploring, inventing and collaborating to further make art accessible to the public in both tradi- tional and non-traditional settings. With a clear vision of inclusion and the insight that all good art works well together, The Aesthetics League brings both a cross-section of artistic styles and varied mediums.

Zach Shore Properties’ Regional Manager, Joseph F. Franchi’s appreciation for art is evident by the local art displayed his offices for over two years on a rotating basis. In- spired by Mr. Franchi’s artful passion, Ms. Arroyo has assembled a wonderful group of artists to take Mr. Franchi’s idea a step further and use the wonderfully appointed space as a gallery with the first of what hopes to be an ongoing event.

The artist themselves have collectively shown and sold hundreds of works throughout the United States. Their common bond is their commitment to art and their New Jersey base of operations.

Description: Learn basic glass bead making using Hot Head torches. These small torches are a convenient and accessible way to practice flameworking at home, once you learn the basic skills in this class. After you learn the basics, move on to intermediate skill like drop pendants and glass cane! Experience is not required, but those with experience will enhance their skills. Taught by renowned artist Yvonne Yaar.

Mosaic Rings!!

Use Millefiori (literal translation, a thousand flowers)- little circles of patterned glass, to make a beautiful ring. Learn how to lay pieces of glass into a ring base and fill with substrate to complete your mosaic. Materials fee of $20 payable to the instructor (Yvonne Yaar).

Sept. 13, 2009

The Bayonet Farm Art & Music Festival will take place noon-5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Bayonet Farm, 41 Middletown Road, Holmdel (rain or shine).

Artists will sell original artwork and compete in a plein air competition and juried art exhibition judged by Holmdel gallery owner James Yarosh, and Fine Art Connoisseur magazine editor Peter Trippi. There will also be demonstrations of raku, flameworking and water media/mixed media.

Musical performers include the Brookdale Jazz Quartet, Monmouth Civic Chorus, acoustic blues guitarist Elliott Fischer, and rock band Late 4 Lunch. Local artists include the Celadon Youth Ensemble, and the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Youth Association dance troupe. There will also be readings and films by Holmdel High School students, and a puppet show. Food will be provided by the Kimisis Greek Church, Holmdel.

The Monmouth Museum is beginning the third season of its New Jersey Emerging Artists Series in the Nilson Gallery with an exhibition of works in glass by artist Yvonne Yaar.

"Switchboard Without an Operator"

Yaar is especially interested in the medium of glass, intrigued by its transparency, color and light-reflecting qualities.

She creates both glass jewelry and wall art/sculpture. Each work is made in front of a torch, with a kiln, or with various tools used to manipulate molten glass. She favors organic, asymmetrical shapes and sacred geometry. Her art incorporates themes of motherhood, love of nature, humor and addiction in her work. She has lived on three different continents and believes her exposure to different cultures has also played an important role in her art.

Yaar will share insights on her work in a gallery talk and give a demonstration at the museum 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 15. This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required, since seating is limited. Call the museum at 732- 747-2266 to register and for additional information. The exhibit will run through April 26.

"Yellow Cityscape"

The New Jersey Emerging Artists Series is an ongoing program for artists who have not previously held a one-person show.

The artists selected represent the diversity of talent in the state and demonstrate their creativity in a wide variety of media. Six artists working in a variety of media are selected each year for a month-long exhibition in the Nilson Gallery.

The Monmouth Museum is located on the Brookdale Community College campus, Newman Springs Road, in Lincroft.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $7.

Meet the artists … pick your favorite with the “People’s Choice Awards” … see and be seen at the MCAC’s Annual Juried Art Show and Sale. Whether you’re a patron of the arts or an artist looking to exhibit in one of Monmouth County’s premier locations, MCAC’s Annual Juried Art Show and Sale is the place for you!

Juried by internationally and nationally acclaimed jurors, the Juried Art Show exhibits artists from the tri-state area and beyond and is viewed by over 3,000 visitors interested in the visual arts. The show runs from January to March at the Monmouth Museum on the Brookdale Community College campus and offers artists the opportunity to win cash awards and recognition.

The opening reception with live music and food is a destination for patrons of the arts and artists alike.

The Juried Art Show & Sale is made possible through funding from the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the County Historical Commission, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment of the Arts. Most pieces are for sale, and a portion of the proceeds benefits the MCAC and the Monmouth Museum.

The Guild of Creative Art -Call to Artists

Calling all 3-D Artists! February 2009 Show will be an Open Juried Show for 3-Dimensional Art. You may enter in any media such as glass, wood, paper, clay, metal, etc. Work may include installation, video, multi- media, photo collage, conceptual, non-representational and abstract pieces that can hang on the wall or from the ceiling or stand alone on the floor or pedestal. Entry fees will be: $7 for one; $12 for two and $15 for three entries (members); $10 for one; $15 for two, and $20 for three entries (non-members). Two Judges will jury the show. A People's Choice monetary award will be given at the end of the show. Receiving: Thursday Feb.5th noon-7pm and Friday Feb 6th noon-4:30pm. Declined work must be picked up on Saturday Feb. 7th noon-4:30pm. Reception: Sunday, Feb. 8th 3-5pm.
